I Continue My Strive

My Strive for this community to love me ! I AM a man of God ! and i want the people of Salem to know that !

My sermons of hellfire and damnation have shunned many of Salem’s residents, but residents such as Mr. and Mrs. Putnam, favor my harsh sense of spiritual authority. I can come clean and say that I am a bit power hungry with the city of Salem therefore in the end althougg Proctor despises me, I try and defend him but only because I worry the town may rise against him and perhaps kill him in retaliation.

So yes I have my downfalls but no one is perfect. One learns from thier own mistakes and succeeds.

It is not the "man" of God who is perfect but the God himself.

What a Crazy Town!

this town has become a madhouse ! it has put my reputation in jeopardy as the town's reverend. My niece Abigail is not helping the situation at all!

I don't want the community to involve me with any of their negative thoughts about her! I have no say in what she has created! I am a devout puritan, a man of God! I have no desire or urge to practice such a thing as witchcraft.

She is her own person and has her own decisions to make and so am I.
All I can hope for now is that this community take this into consideration of their accusations. I don't want to be punished for something I do not believe in.

what have i gotten myself into ??

As a reverend of the town of Salem, I shouldn't be getting myself into these types of mishaps. Tituba, my own slave, was leading them in these abnormal acts. During this session, Abigail drank chicken blood to kill Elizabeth Proctor. She tells the girls that she will kill anyone who mutters a word about what happened. Parris caught them and jumped from a bush startling the girls. Betty fainted and had not recovered. And my dear Betty has to suffer the consequences of my actions. What will the people think? Will they say that my child and niece associate with the devil? Abigail says otherwise. She states that what they were doing has nothing to do with the devil or of any sort. The townspeople may or not be aware of what they were actually doing, but have accused them of being witches.

I should have never startled the girls in the forest. I’ve made a small issue into something huge. The community already doesn’t like me , why did I have to make it worse? As long as Abigail sticks to her story we should be fine and my place in the community will not change.
